10 facts about me

1. Best to say it now... I lost my chocolate lab, Kahlua, to cancer on March 20, 2015. 
2. My other dog is handling it well, playing and cuddling when he sees that I'm down.
3. The first year of design is finished in 3 weeks, and I can't wait to show you all what I've learned!
4. My family's from NL (I don't have the accent), and I'm looking forward to fish & brewis for Good Friday
5. I just coloured my hair a deep red/brown with a plumb peek-a-boo highlight on the left side, a la something you might see in an anime.
6. Last week, my drawing class had a nude model come in for live drawing.
7. I've never sketched a nude model before.
8. It was terrifying at first, but got easier the longer she was there...as if she turned into a fixed object.
9. I miss drawing animes/cartoony characters and can't wait to get back into the daily routine of sketching/posting at the end of this semester.
10. I miss seeing all of your drawings!

I have a pug/jack mix, Jagger, and my chocolate lab Kahlua, just passed away (as mentioned above)

I'm not sure since I've not lived anywhere but here, but am considering a placement in Seoul or Tokyo in 2017. Anyone live there? Are they worth travelling to? lol

4. What are your three favourite colours?

Ah....impossible. Black, teal, and a vibrant orange, perhaps.

5. Coke or Pepsi?

Another impossible question... Cokesi?

6. Name a fictional character you wish you could meet in real life.

Kurosaki Ichigo. Go ahead, groan.

Yes.

Hellurrr ladies and gents! As the semester wraps up, I'm looking for fun ways to keep drawing (this whole Drawing degree course kinda left me feeling...uninspired). So! What I'm looking for is to have you tell me who you'd like to see decked out in Christmas gear and/or a Christmas scene. First 10 to comment might get a lil something extra.

What are you working on? Post your latest arts in the comments too? It's so much easier than me having to tackle the 15k+ deviations that have piled up...! >__<

There's an art element to her campaign, I've added a drawing as a perk on Indiegogo and several people have requested drawings of their dogs. Some of the dogs I'm drawing are beloved pets who have passed away, so I'm trying to take my time to do them justice. 

Design school is crazy. Lol. There's so much work that it's tough to sit back and enjoy/appreciate progress. I found myself cussing the other night while drawing a snowman, then realized what I was cussing at and burst out laughing. So yeah, it might be making me a little crazy, too. The good news? I'm learning more than I could have dreamed of already, and we're only 7 weeks in. On top of that, I just learned that one of our course options is a trip to China AND Japan in May 2015. Can't wait to go! 

I really miss drawing for the pure joy of it, so I've decided to dedicate some time every day to sketching what I love, the kind of pieces you've all seen on here of fan art, and animals. Your words of encouragement are so heartwarming and always make me want to try even harder to progress. 
Are there any manga/anime characters you'd like me to attempt? Lol I have the top 50 list, but am feeling more spur of the moment...if I get 3-4 names in the comments, I'll sketch and post them over the weekend.

Random, three guesses what I had for lunch lol....

Anyways, sending a quick message to let you all know that I'm alive and well, and thankfully so is my chocolate lab, Kahlua, who is battling cancer and going in for her second round of chemotherapy on Friday.

To all those who have supported Kahlua's Quest for the Cure, you have my eternal gratitude. Needless to say, part of this initiative has me drawing people's pets, so you'll soon be seeing at least two deviations of dogs...if you're interested in getting involved, please visit the site and/or drop a note. There's so much power in art and we can use as much support as we can get!

Just picked up a pack of Mars Lumograph 100 and was curious about others' experiences with them. Also, if you don't use Staedtler, what do you use and why? (Besides cost)
